PHILIPPINES OPEN
All four Philippines Open semi-finalists are Filipino
Johann Chua, Bernie Regalario, Anton Raga and Baseth Mocaibat play for the title in Quezon City on Saturday. Between them they knocked out the top three on the WNT prize-money list and the defending champion.
The 2026 Philippines Open will have a Filipino champion. All four semi-finalists in Quezon City are from the Philippines: Johann Chua, Bernie Regalario, Anton Raga and Baseth Mocaibat. Because each semi-final is Filipino against Filipino, the final will be all-Filipino too.
The quarter-finals (Round 5) finished the job. Chua beat Carlo Biado 10–1, Regalario beat Francisco Sánchez Ruiz 10–1, Raga beat Jayson Shaw 10–4 and Mocaibat edged Shane Van Boening 10–9.
Who they beat
- Johann Chua: Tony Piazza 10–1, Jaycee Garcia 10–5, James Aranas 10–8, Aleksa Pecelj 10–7, then Biado 10–1 (No. 2 on the WNT prize-money rankings).
- Bernie Regalario: Albert Espinola 10–4, Jesson Marabi 10–2, Demosthenes Pulpul 10–5, defending champion David Alcaide 10–2, then Sánchez Ruiz 10–1 (No. 3).
- Anton Raga: Jhon Narvaez 10–6, Rommel Janael Santos 10–7, Bryant Saguiped 10–3, Jefrey Roda 10–7, then Shaw 10–4.
- Baseth Mocaibat: Aljohn Omugtong 10–4, Mickey Krause 10–6, Denis Grabe 10–8, world No. 1 Aloysius Yapp 10–3, then Van Boening 10–9.
Between them, the four have won 20 matches in the draw. The top three on the WNT prize-money list (Yapp, Biado and Sánchez Ruiz) and defending champion Alcaide all lost to the four Filipinos who are left.
The four semi-finalists
Regalario has been the most dominant. He has given up just 14 racks in five matches, 16 fewer than Mocaibat's 30 and 13 fewer than Raga's 27. Chua has conceded 22. Regalario is No. 18 on the WNT prize-money list and reached the last eight at this event a year ago, when he was 20. He beat Efren Reyes at 14, according to the Manila Times.
Chua is the highest-ranked of the four at No. 10 on prize money. Wikipedia lists him as the 2024 Hanoi Open champion and this year's Pattaya Open winner, and he beat Pecelj in the last 16 after Pecelj had locked up his Mosconi Cup spot.
Raga is from Cebu and won the 2025 SBA Philippine Open nine-ball title. In 2023 he was runner-up at the European Open, losing 13–12 to Alcaide.
Mocaibat has the biggest names on his list: Grabe, the Arizona Open champion (10–8), world No. 1 Yapp (10–3) and Van Boening, whom he beat by a single rack.

- 6:00 PM Manila (6:00 AM ET): the final, as scheduled.
All four are already guaranteed $7,000 as semi-finalists. The winner takes $20,000 and the runner-up $10,000. Times are the schedule posted on the WNT live scores page and can move. Follow every match on the Scores page.
What it means
Alcaide won last year's edition 13–3 over Arseni Sevastyanov, so a Filipino winner on Saturday would end the Spaniard's reign. For the full week so far, see our Philippines Open recap.
